Government-style humor!

I love our government. I do! if anything, then for its impeccable sense of humor!

Read this headline:

مشروع قانون ينص على جواز اعلام المتقاضين الكترونياً - أخبار الخليج 30 ديسمبر 2006

The government is proposing, via law amendment refered to Parliament, that it may inform court defendants of their cases electronically-- in order that Bahrain "keeps abreast of the latest global information technologies."

Isn't that fun?

Is the government aware that employees of the Ministry of Justice still DON'T have emails addresses! (they don't have voicemail either.. not that they ever answer the phone or return phone calls for that matter).. In fact, funny enough, when I saw the card of the Minister, it had his yahoo email! Another piece of useless trivia: I was told by a court employee that one time all the case results were delayed by one month because the court section which prints the results had only one printer that stopped working! (for a month). So I suppose the government should fix these problems first in order that Bahrain "keeps abreast of the latest global information technologies" too. While it's at it, I suggest it gives all ministry employees phone lines and internet access as well. It may help!
