Thanx for bringing this article into the light. How infuriating. How can we discuss trade with Israel with all the destruction to humanity currently going on in Palestine? Doesn't an ambassidor's opinions supposed to reflect his country's stand? Trully shame on us. Issues like this should cause an uproar in the street and parliament, rather than trivial nothings like the Spring of this that and the other. What have we come too. Shameless.....
I'm still unclear whether or not this is just a slip or an indication of Bahrain's foreign policy. Of course, the Washington Post had a field day with it, since it is not everyday that you get a Gulfie Ambassador at a Jewish religious celebration and they had to jump on it immediately to attract attention..
On another front, as doe said, foreign policy (if that's what it was) should not go against the wishes of the majority of the population (who I suspect are against this)...

Well, Qatar is inviting Israeli students to attend university there now. I am not surprised that Bahrain is (very slowly) trying to follow their lead. This has been discussed for the past year - just this past summer it was plastered all over Israel Insider, claiming that the Gulf is getting cozier and cozier to Israel...
At whose expense, might I ask?
Well.. at least some countries are honest about it. We seem to want the best of both worlds...!
My issue here is: we don't need to be doing this! We don't share a border with Israel and there are no trade or investment relations that we should be banking on. It's just dumb for the government to be running after Israel, knowing that the population as a whole is against it.
